WILD TIGER ⁍ [Kaburagi T. Kotetsu] ([personal profile] verydurable) wrote2011-07-06 10:36 pm

oh right I should post this

Name: Kaburagi Kotetsu (Code Name: Wild Tiger)
Canon: Tiger and Bunny
Age: mid-thirties
Job: Star, Cameraman, and Acting Director for Hero TV: CFUD edition

Canon: In the city of Stern Bild, being a Hero doesn’t mean instant job security. A Hero may be a super-powered crime fighter, but he or she also has to think about the best interests of their corporate sponsor, keep their PR image squeaky clean, and count up the points they receive from Hero TV, a live-broadcast ranking system. With all that hype, it might even be possible to forget that what a hero is really supposed to do is save people!

Wild Tiger is no newcomer to the gig but it is kind of a wonder that he’s still around. Ever since he was young, he’s been sure that his powers were meant for one thing only: to help others. The problem is that he’s too impatient with the pop star side of the hero business. Budgeting and fines keep him from doing his duty, and the TV staff wants him to be more personable. He’s brash, disorganized, and he can sulk and complain with the best of them. And perhaps the worst crime of all: he’s a total idealist. Still, any bad temper he exhibits is just the result of not being able to help others. Otherwise, he’s a genuinely good natured, concerned “father-figure” type, and although he’s more than a bit clueless his heart is in the right place.

note: Bunny is the nickname of Tiger’s partner in crime fighting.

Sample Post:

Hello! This is Tiger, the member of Tiger and Bunny who . . . Wait. I hadn’t thought of anything yet. Is this thing recording? It’s the red button, right?

“Start with an interesting fact,” they tell me. As if I know any! Didn’t I get into this situation because I didn’t have a clue what to say in front of the camera? This job isn’t supposed to be about my private life to begin with. But no, it’s “if you won’t do interviews like all the other heroes, we’ll just send you out into the field for a while.” Well you’re not getting any good footage out of this!

But . . . “into the field.” It’s a term, right? This looks like more like an actual field to me. Listen, it’s not that I have a problem with traveling. A Hero should go anywhere there’s people who need help. It doesn’t matter if you live in the city or out by yourself in the middle of nowhere, everyone’s got an equal right to feel protected. A safe world, that’s a great dream.

Eh, let’s try that introduction thing again. I’m Wild Tiger, and this is a farm. And those over there are the criminals I’m supposed to be fighting, or so I was told. Honestly, they just look like a bunch of gorillas to me, but I’ve got my eyes on them in case they try any monkey business. But kidnapping . . . they don’t look capable of it, do they? At least they don’t seem to mind me getting closer. Good gorillas, you don’t collect children, do you? I just want to take a look in your nests and see if you’ve got any kids in there. Though even if they did it, I think it’d just be instinct gone wrong. I don’t like the idea of blaming an animal for something it can’t help.

Besides, they seem friendly. They’re even smiling for the camera as I get closer! Eh — ah, wait a minute. Do gorillas smile, or is that a hostile act? I can’t remember. Should I pitch the camera and see if they keep on doing it? Wait, I can’t risk another fine. Nothing I can do but keep on walking, right? Hero TV, if your equipment doesn’t make it out of this one, just remember that it’s not my fault. A two-ton gorilla sits anywhere it wants to!
